HAND-WOVEN IN TAIWAN
Handmade silver web and beads with green wax thread macramé drop earrings. The web resembles the organized chaos of mother nature. “Ami” means Web in Pinayuanan, one branch of the Austronesian languages spoken by the Paiwan Indigenous tribe from the island of Taiwan.
ARTIST
Known in Mandarin as “Iron-Hand Mom”, she is a part-time macramé weaving artist and a mom of 5 children. Some of her renowned works include macramé earrings, bags, and hanging décor, consisting of intricate tribal and floral patterns with strong elements of mother nature. She represents the Paiwan indigenous tribe living in the mountains of Pingtung, south of Taiwan.
