DESIGNED IN NEPAL
Samrajya, means “Kingdom” in Nepali, is the first board game of Nepal. The game is inspired by Prithivi Narayan Shah’s conquest of the Kathmandu Valley through Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Patan, and finally Bhaktapur. The gameplay uses minimal strategy and is recommended for children 6 and above, maximum for 6 players.
DESIGNER
Women entrepreneur and designer, Kreeti Shakya, founder of Kazi Studios, is famous for designing variety of board games, card games, and graphic design project in Nepal. In 2010, Kreeti founded Kazi Studios with a modern pursuit in creating job opportunities for tech experts and digital designers, introducing the values of art and design to the market, a concept still quite new to Nepal in modern days Throughout the last decade.
Every game and gift designed by Kazi Studios offers a unique strong cultural backstory, Kazi Studios gained a good amount of attention from abroad. Board games like Jatra, Payoo, Langur Burja, and Samrajya aim to be the bridge connecting older and younger generation to play together and learn together, while also serve as a bridge to one’s own identity, the traditions and cultures that made us who we are.
