Handmade blue and red wax thread macramé over key ring with cowrie shell fan shape earring. “Sipayzan” means Fan in Pinayuanan, one branch of the Austronesian languages spoken by the Paiwan Indigenous tribe from the island of Taiwan.

ARTIST

Known in Mandarin as “Iron-Hand Mom”, she is a part-time macramé weaving artist and a mom of 5 children. Some of her renowned works include macramé earrings, bags, and hanging décor, consisting of intricate tribal and floral patterns with strong elements of mother nature. She represents the Paiwan indigenous tribe living in the mountains of Pingtung, south of Taiwan.
